Treat Your Family With These Great Grilling Recipes
Fun times around the pool call for some fabulous grilling recipes! The combination of fresh grilled foods, cold drinks, and a backyard pool is the perfect way to enjoy the outdoors. Take a look at some of these recipes, bring your grill out by the pool, and start cooking.
Restaurant Style Prime Rib
- 4 to 10 lbs of prime rib roast
- 3 tbsp of sea salt
- 4 tbsp of freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 tbsp dry thyme
- a little bit of olive oil
The roast will have to sit with the rub overnight, so plan accordingly. To start cooking some restaurant style prime ribs, rinse the roast and then pat it dry using a paper towel. Rub the rib roast with a little bit of olive oil. In a small bowl, mix the sea salt, black pepper and thyme. Sprinkle this mixture over the top of the prime roast. Wrap the roast in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
Heat your grill up to 500 degrees. Grill the top and the bottom of the roast for 3 minutes on each side. Remove the roast from the the grill and wrap in aluminum foil. Bring the temperature down to 325 degrees. Place the roast in a roasting pan and add beef broth to the bottom of the roasting pan. If you would like, you can add onion, carrots, mushrooms, and garlic to the broth. Roast the prime ribs until they have reached the correct temperature. Remove from the pan and let sit for 15 minutes before cutting and serving.
Canadian Pork Rack
Brine Ingredients:
- 8 crushed cloves of garlic
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups of water ‘
- 2 cups of apple cider
Seasoning Blend Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic salt
- 3/4 teaspoon of dry mustard
- 1 tbsp of brown sugar
- 1 tbsp of paprika
Red Pepper Glaze Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup of spicy red pepper jelly
You will need to plan ahead with this recipe as it requires letting ingredients sit over night. Combine all of the ingredients for the brine and place in sauce pan. Bring the combination to a boil, remove from the heat, and let cool for at least 8 hours.
Place your pork in a reseal-able plastic bag. Add the brine combination. Close the plastic bag and place in the fridge for about six hours.
Bring your grill to a temperature of 250 degrees. Combine the seasoning blend ingredients in a small bowl. Remove the pork from the plastic bag, pat dry, and sprinkle the seasoning blend over the pork. Cook the pork on your grill until it reaches an internal temperature of 135 degrees. This should take about an hour and a half.
Remove the pork from the grill and brush the red pepper glaze over the pork. Place the pork back on the grill and cook until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees. Remove the pork from the grill and let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Dino Bones
- Beef short ribs
- Beef rub
This is a simple recipe for ribs that your kids will love. Trim excess fat from the ribs and any silver skin. Slather the ribs with your favorite beef rub. Smoke the beef at 250 degrees for 3 to 4 hours. Peel off the outer membrane on the bone side of the ribs. Separate each of the bones and wrap in foil. Cook for another 3 to 4 hours. Drizzle some liquid from the wrapped foil pieces into some bbq sauce and mix. Pour this mixture on to the ribs and then serve.
